the old man sits on the corner
of the crossroads
bathing in the morning sun
as the villagers drive by
chasing hopes, dreams and the future.
the old man is defiant, present,
nourishing himself on every moment
of light.
facing his last days the brave warrior has stopped time,
having slayed all his dragons,
he sits peacefully. content.
And the villagers pass him by
chasing dreams and the future.
